For me, wildlife photography is about the experience. I strive to create images that are pleasing to look at while being informative about animal behavior and habitat, without disturbing my subjects.

Wildlife photography is more than documenting animals. It's about working with the subject, the available light, wind, the environment, and camera settings, while learning to understand and predict animal behavior to locate subject matter and capture the best images possible.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art from Michigan State University, where I was a darkroom monitor. Photography has been a lifelong passion.

My curiosity propels me to continue learning the ways of the wild creatures, through observation, mentors, books, media,. . .
